My friend Aud and I went to see a movie tonight...at the dollar theater ($1.50 these days actually but that doesn't roll of the tongue the same...tee hee) and have a great time on that buck fifty...well, $8 if you count what I spent on my soda and candy. We sat and watched 'Oceans Twelve" (ok movie) in seats that rock every time anyone on the same row so much as breaths...in a theater where I spent many awkward dates when I was growing up.
Anyway, I have to give kudos to Aud. She had a very nice invite to dinner with a very nice guy but she told him that she already had plans to go to a movie with me. I thought that was a nice thing for her to do...especially since I said we could go another night if she wanted. She even said I could invite my guy if I wanted and we could make it another double date...but we decided to go as just us. It was nice to be able to talk to one person (instead of 3), to not worry (as much) about what I was going to wear, and to not be sidetracked through the whole movie wondering if my crush was going to make a move or not.
Life is so exhausting...it's nice sometimes to just relax and forget about reality for a while.

There is no substitute for gal pals.
Very, very true. It's amazing what a void they can fill...especially when they leave chocolate ice cream and chocolate topping at your house...I owe ya, Cate! Hee.
